Мезенская роспись, возникла в деревне Палащелье Архангельской губернии и является наследием славян. Мастера использовали для неё красную глину, которую добывали на берегах реки Мезень. Благодаря этому материалу роспись получилась сочной и выразительной, а старинные узоры сделали её очень древней и интересной.

Композиция строится на фризовом орнаменте. Это делает роспись уникальной и неповторимой.
